During the class of Digital Media, the learning objectives were to learn photoshop skills, this is valuable to my future because, if I ever need it I will know how to do it. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for Digital Media 2 had the following objectives: have a high quality photo, have four color and light adjustments, change the opacity, and have a watermark, these link back to the course learning objectives because we had to do these on the photoshop and we figured it out by ourselves.
The assignment was about taking our own pictures(portraits and textures) and required me to edit the pictures on photoshop. The process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with me finding textures and taking a picture of it, then I had to find a model and take 10 different pictures of them. Once I had completed that I edited them on photoshop, making sure the pictures were in focus and with adjustments to improve the picture. When I had that complete, I masked the portrait and the texture together to create the double exposures. The whole process of this took a while to complete because we had to make sure the image had no distracting elements and was pleasing to the eye.
The two school wide learning outcomes I demonstrated with this artifact are Applying technological Skills for the 21st century and Thinking critically and creatively. I have demonstrated this first slo in the artifact by demonstrating, that I know how to work the camera and using the computer to use photoshop, this is important because whenever I need to use pictures for family events I will be able to do and maybe even make a profit of it. The second slo I demonstrated was thinking critically and creatively, by looking at my surroundings and thinking of how it would be in a picture and how the end result would look like and this is important to because that how my life choices should be made looking at the bigger picture.I could have improved on applying skills to the 21st century, because I could have taken better high quality pictures, but I rushed it because I didn't went to fall behind. Over the most important things I have learned in this class this year are to take time making sure there isn't any mistake cause then that distracts from the purpose of the image.
Nisene Marks Photoshoot
During the class of Digital Media 2, the learning objectives are to take high quality pictures and edit them to the best of our ability, this valuable to my future because I have and am learning camera skills as well as photoshop skills. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for Digital Media 2 had the following learning objectives: take multiple pictures and use photoshop to make them as clean as possible, these link back to the course learning objectives by helping us gain experience to actually do it.
The project was about us taking high quality pictures, and required us as a class to go to Nisene Mark park and have a photoshoot with a underclassman model. The process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with me planning out how: I wanted my pictures to look like, who I wanted my model to be, what I wanted her to wear and the theme I was going to follow. Once I had my pre-production complete, I went to talk to my model to go through my idea for the photoshoot and she agreed. Then came the day of the photoshoot, Richards and Keller took us and helped us set up. At the park it was kinda awkward between me and the model, but then we started talking with made her less tense. I had an idea of what I wanted the poses to look like, but I kinda just took a different route. When we came back I started to upload my picture into the Mac to Pc, I had a total of almost 300 pictures that I had to sort out through. I decided to keep 16 pictures and edit them. As edited them I wanted to keep the same colors for all the pictures.Once I had all my pictures edited I narrowed it down from 16 to 10. Once the whole class finished we did a critique to see all the pictures and how we could improve them. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned how to work professionally with a model, also how to work photoshop to make my pictures even better than what they already were. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence, producing 10 high quality pictures and enhancing them with photoshop. This tell me that I learn better by doing more hands on projects.
The two school wide learning outcomes I have demonstrated with this artifact are being a self directed learner who communicates effectively and mastering skills necessary to succeed in college and career. I have demonstrated being a self directed learner who communicates effectively by demonstrating my creativity through photoshop, this is important because I am learning to think outside the box when it comes to the way I edit my picture. The second slo I demonstrated was mastering skills necessary to succeed in college and career by working by myself to edit and when I needed opinions on what to improve I would ask the people sitting next to me. This is important because I'm working both independently and collaborative. I could have improved the SLO thinking critically and creatively by taking more risks with different kinds of lenses.
Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year is, how to work together as a class to improve the project.
