ROL on the Accounting Process
In the class of Economics and Accounting the learning objective were to learn how to mange finances for a business, this is valuable to my future because I will apply it to my life once I have expenses to handle. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for Economics and Accounting had the following learning objectives; learning how to read spreadsheets, knowing how to solve and arrange numbers on spreadsheets and practicing making our own spreadsheets, these link back to the course learning objectives by giving us experience on how to do them.
The assignment was a accounting process spreadsheet and required me to look closely at the numbers to make sure I put them in the right order. The process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with reading the assignment and sorting out the numbers, then we would but them on the spreadsheet making sure the numbers added up as we went, to make sure they made sense, we then would turn it in to Mr. Tennant to grade. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned or grown in the following ways: taking my time and actually trying to understand it also.
The two school wide learning outcomes I demonstrated with this artifact are mastering skills I need in career and college and thinking critically and creatively. I have demonstrated mastering skills needed in college and career because I really like working on this assignment and this class gave me the basics, during college I want to take a class in Economics. The second SLO I demonstrated was thinking critically and creatively by thinking on how to solve the spreadsheet because their is more than one way to get it right. I could have improved the following SLO applying technological skills to the 21st century by using Google to help me solve a problem when I didnt understand it.
Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year are: the spreadsheets and vocabulary. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future by giving the advantage on knowing how to see my spending and income of a business by using spreadsheets.
